Certificazioni. Il Regolamento (UE) 2016/425 stabilisce i requisiti per la progettazione e la fabbricazione dei Dispositivi di Protezione Individuale (DPI) messi a disposizione sul mercato e fissa norme sulla libera circolazione nell’Unione Europea. La marcatura CE attesta che il prodotto è stato valutato dal produttore e che rispetta i requisiti previsti dall’UE in materia di sicurezza e salute dell’utilizzatore, e tutela dell’ambiente. Il Regno Unito ha istituito un proprio marchio di conformità (UKCA) ma ha anche esteso il riconoscimento della marcatura CE a tempo indeterminato. Le modalità di autodichiarazione, pertanto, della marcatura CE valgono anche per la marcatura UKCA. Laddove, invece, è richiesta la valutazione obbligatoria della conformità da parte di organismi notificati, questa deve essere espressamente rilasciata anche per la marcatura UKCA. La classificazione dei DPI è effettuata per Categorie di Rischio crescenti, come da tabella seguente. Regulation (EU) 2016/425 establishes the requirements for the design and manufacture of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) made available on the market and establishes rules on the free movement in the European Union. The CE marking certifies that the product has been assessed by the manufacturer and that it complies with EU requirements regarding user health and safety, and environmental protection. The United Kingdom has established its own conformity marking (UKCA) but has also extended recognition of the CE marking indefinitely. Therefore, the self-declaration methods of the CE marking also apply to the UKCA marking. Where, however, mandatory conformity assessment by notified bodies is required, this must also be expressly issued for the UKCA marking. The PPE classification is carried out by increasing Risk Categories, as per the following table.
